With the summer season ended, we can look back on visits from judging groups
with some satisfaction. After being declared as, winners of our category
in the East Fife and Fife Wide competitions organised by Fife Council,
we awaited results to be announced by the Beautiful Scotland in Bloom. |

After the disappointing loss of
Best Large Village in Scotland to Melrose in 2004, we were cheered to
find that the Scotland in Bloom judges found the village in excellent order
in 2005.
The presentation of awards in Edzell saw us
claim
Best Large Village, Best Village in Scotland and the Visit Scotland Tourism
Awards, one of our best results to date!

This reflects great credit on the residents
and business owners, as well as on our own efforts to make the village look
florally attractive during the summer season.
There is now a strong likelihood that we will
represent Scotland in the Large Village category when the Britain in Bloom
campaign begins in 2006.
Having won first Silver, then
Silver Gilt awards in successive years, how dearly we would love to
reach GOLD
standard next September!! |
