Over several generations, Falkland folk have been able to
make use of the local estate with the ready agreement of the laird, Ninian
Crichton Stuart. The last several years have seen Falkland Heritage Trust
established and being able to access funds to facilitate improvement to the
general landscape, including programmes to pollard and replant trees,
rebuild bridges, install seats and widen footpaths for wheelchairs . A
network of walks is well advanced including the dramatic features in Maspie
Den which cannot fail to impress even the most lukewarm of nature lovers!
The
intention of this website is to tell interested parties a little about
Falkland and the work of Falkland in Bloom. Members of our group take a deal
of satisfaction in knowing that the manner in which we enhance our
surroundings is appreciated by both residents and the many visitors who come
here each year. We consider our community is just a little special and hope
our efforts to improve the environment can keep it that way in the years
that lie ahead. Comments and enquiries can be made through
